Querido Familia y Amigos,
¡Como estan? ¡Que pasa Mufasa?
So this week has been quite an adventure for me, first off- Remember how I said I was an aggressive person cuando yo juego futbol? Pues (well) it came to kick me in the pants. Quick squirrell! (side note. If you haven´t seen Up, please watch it. Porque 1. It will help you understand why I say squirrell and 2. Its a cute movie) speaking of pants kicking. I don´t have a cold anymore! I have just gotten over my cough which is so wonderful! Unfortunately my system o cuerpo cannot live sin problemas. This ultimo miercoles cuando you fui a jugar futbol. I went into a slide tackle on an Elder, another squirrell! We play on a cement court. now this Elder is about twice my size. Now according to my distrito I got the ball, but this Elder fue corriendo muy rapido y con a lot of force. So when he hit me I was immediately knocked to the ground. Included is a picture of what happened to my leg at thus said moment in time. ¡Muy divertido, No? After it happened I played a little longer then decided to sit out. But the next day when it had healed up a little bit, or at least closed up a little I went out to play again. The same Elder was there and it had reained so there was a lot of mud and dirty water. This Elder kicked me 3 times on the opposite leg, but in the same spot every time. And then twice he kicked dirt and mud right into my cuts each time opening them back up. Ahorrita (right now) mis piernas estan mejor. After cleaning them out again, which was quite miserable for me, though funny at the same time. I will elaborate (I love that work, its just so fun to say! Try it I dare you-- see I told you it was fun)As most of you know I love medicine. Needles, drawing blood, open wounds, surgery, I can totally handle that its my think. But trying to clean out my own wound with a wipe that had just a smidgen (another totally awesome word, try this one, if you didn´t like the last one I promise you will like this one.) of alcohol in it, and I am whimpering at even the slightest tough. ¡Es raro, No? Pero, yo se es una vida buena. Y (this is for you Kaytlyn) la iglesia es verdadera.
Mis maestros ensenan un otro distrito y they like to have combined lessons with them. The last one was this ultimo viernes. And they asked mi distrito to perform a musical number. La canta de mi distrito es"Oh Mi Padre" to the tune of come thou fount. I sang as a soprano in a special group who was to start the song (yes I am special, I know your jealous) I was muy nerviosa porque, I am not a singer. But it went really weel and brought a wonderful spirit into the last half of class.
Last p-day after I had already had my time on the computer mi companera y yo spend time in nuestra casa cleaning and organizing, and lots of sleeping. I love sleeping, and people who don´t like sleeping. I´m sorry but I don´t know how you do it. We took quite a few naps that day and it was wonderful. But it was really funny because about 2 hours before cena a las 6, it started pouring. After only a half our we no longer had a lawn. Included is a picture of what our front yard looked like. It was crazy, mi companera dared me to go and jump in the puddle but it was just a few minutes before we had to get ready to leave for cena and I didn´t want to be late. I have sort of had a problem while I have been here en el CCM, and that problem is that I am always hungry. Mi companera is sort of sick of hearing me saying "¡Hermana, yo tengo mucho hambre!" So there was no way that I am every going to willing be late for a meal, which is just fine by me. This next picture I love because there was so much rain and fog that we couldn´t see el edificio donde nuestra clase was even though it was just about a block away. And so when I saw this the first thought that came to my mind was "The way to Narnia, I see it. Hurry we have to make it to Narnia!" If you look close one of the few things you can see is a lamp post. So yes, I tried to run out of the house in my gym close and make it to Narnia, thankfully mi companera had the sense to stop me. Another funny thing that happened with all the rain was that it not only turned our front yard into a lake, but turned the street into a river. There were more than a dozen poor Elderes who found themselves stranded on little spots of the street that had not yet been taken over by the river that was forming. And when I saw river, I mean river. Not just a little stream, you saw how much water was in our yard. But multiply that by about half and started pushing it arond, thats about what the street was like. Thankfully right as we were leaving for el comedor por cena things cleared up a little and the river died down to a small trickle.
This past sunday was fast sunday because of general conference this coming weekend. During the sunday class with Presidente Pratt he talked about testimony and conversion. It was a good reminder for all of us missionaries about the importance of both. The talk about conversion really struck me the most. He said that conversion means change. A change of ones belief, heart, and life to accept and conform to the will of God. But the other thing he said about conversion has really stuck with me. He said conversion is not an event but a process. I have been working hard to try and convert myself while I have been aqui en el CCM and I thought that I would just be converted and everyting would be awesome. So I got a bit frustrated with myself when I wasn´t finding myself converted on some things. But this helped me re-focus myself and keep at it. It doesn´t happen all at once, for me or for my investigadores.
So I have been trying to put my memory to good use. I have memorized 13 verses from the book of mormon, DyC and then the pearl of great pirce. And then 4 verses in the bible, I am working hard to actually remember then and so far am doing pretty good.
Ok so I am going to try and send a few other pictures that I tried really hard for and really loved.
1. So I found that I can climb up the walls in the hallways of mi casa. And so I´m sure you can guess what I do with my spare time.
2. I wanted a good study spot one of of peoples way where I could do what I want. Found it.
3. Normally my meals consist of whatever they gave my and 2 conchas rarely do I have fruit or salad. So this was the most balanced meal I had since I arrived. I figured it would be nice to document.
I love you all and hope that things are going great for you. Please keep sending letters and feel free to send pictures, even if you have to draw them yourselves. Dearelder.com is a great way to get letters to me quick, though I´m not sure how much it costs. Oh well, if you are reading my letters that makes me feel awesome anyway. Anyone who is willing to put up with my oddness, I should not require more of them. Did that make sense? No, pues, esta bien.
I love you all, and the next time I write I will be in Chile! Wish me luck!
Hermana Monsivais
